Mylar® A polyester film, or Electrical Grade Mylar, is general purpose film that is resistant to chemicals, extreme temperatures and moisture. This material is made without plasticizers, which means it will not become brittle with normal use. Mylar® A is tough, flexible and heat resistant, with excellent insulating characteristics. It is suitable for a wide variety of applications, and is also safe for contact with food. This film is transparent up to 92 gauge, but translucent in heavier gauges. Mylar® film is available in two standard types, Mylar® A and Mylar® D.
